During normal business operations, or in the event of a disaster or even a business anomaly, which requires data recovery, WAN performance and disaster recovery tend to go hand-in-hand. The key to a successful recovery is the backup and restore. The backup and restore exercise is generally measured by two major factors: speed and cost. How you manage the recovery process, implement the backup and ensure business continuity will be judged by how long the recovery took and how much it cost.
In our first blog article we talked a lot about WAN performance and disaster recovery. It is one of the focus areas for our blog and something we think about a lot these days. Also in that first blog, we mentioned that we’d bring together here Certeon news and events as well as “industry subject matter experts and analysts.” Well, as we wouldn’t want to disappoint early on… Shawn Cooney, co-founder of Certeon, and Deni Connor, senior analyst from Storage Strategies Group just held a webcast, Accelerating Backup with WAN Optimization Virtual Appliances, that discusses bringing data recovery, WAN optimization, and virtualization together.
